Kids who maybe want a bit more than a children’s picture book, or are looking for more to the story will like this set of 3 stories in one. This is the fourth in the Fox & Chick series and I think you will want all four! Fox and Chick may just have one of the sweetest friendships I’ve seen in a children’s book.

Fox is very matter-of-fact, but he loves his friend, Chick. Chick is a bit unsure of herself but isn’t afraid to remind Fox of her love for cake or potato chips. These two personalities are perfect for each other.

In these three stories, Chick seems to always have a problem that needs fixing. It may appear that Fox jumps in to help, but instead, he helps Chick see the best way forward and figure it out on her own. I love that Fox offers just the right amount of guidance for Chick. My favorite story was Up and Down where Chick ends up stuck in the tree and can’t figure out how to get back down. Fox convinces her to show him how she made it up there and magically she makes it back down.

I think these stories are adorable and kids and parents will love them. Plus, it will encourage your little reader to practice reading for longer stretches of time by reading all three stories at once.
