Fiction

Even though the calendar says Spring has arrived, it doesn’t quite feel like it here yet, especially with snow in the forecast. But, all around us, we do see signs of Spring…robins in the yard, crocus blooming, and bugs starting to wake up from their hiding places.

With an ode to morning as well as Spring, Jameson encourages us to Wake Up! With a rhyming scheme, she encourages the tiny mouse to scamper, a bee to blossom-hop, a bear to catch trout, and frogs to splash about. All this is happening as friends are gathering for a special spring celebration in the woods.

The green grass, the wildflowers, and the adorable waking animals bring life to the pages and remind us of the joys of springtime. Whether you are encouraging your child to wake up and greet the day with a smile or want to teach them about animals that hibernate, or about the beauty of Spring, you’ll want to read this book. It is sure to put a spring in your step and make your child excited to watch for all the fun signs of spring in your neighborhood.
