Starting preschool can be an exciting time but it can also be an anxious time for kids, especially if they’ve never attended a daycare or group setting. Talking through the basic steps and activities that will occur during a day at preschool will help lesson the fears your child may have about doing something new.

Each page of this board book offers an interactive element to engage your child on the page. First, the child will hang up their coat in their very own locker. Then it’s playtime and meeting new friends until everyone arrives. Help the frog move across the page to hang up his artwork on the wall and find a book to read or listen to a story. Finally, it’s time to move and sing lots of songs to close out the day.

Kids will learn there is a rhythm to every day and fun ways to play and share with others. The animal illustrations are cute and the preschool classroom looks fun and inviting. You can even help your child find the parent waiting in the doorway for pick up to remind them that you will be there at the end of every day to pick them up.

I was a little disappointed in the interactive features on each page. They are all exactly the same, just sliding the character across or up and down the page. The cover does have windows to open, but some flaps to lift or dials to move would have been a nice addition. Overall, this book is perfect for young kids attending preschool for the first time.
