If you are looking for a fun read-aloud for your lower elementary classroom or need a fun interactive read with your kids, BOOP! is it! My husband will be reading it at our library storytime (he’s the mayor of our town) and I’m sure the kids will love it.
A Boop! is a friendly tap on a dog’s nose. You tap the dog’s snoot (the black tip on its face) with your finger and that’s called a Boop! When you do that, the dog’s tail will swish and sway and soon all the dogs will want you to Boop! their snoot.
With all kinds of fun ways to interact, some counting, lots of exclamations, and overall silliness, kids will love this read-aloud. All kinds of dogs. are featured in this book and kids may even find a dog they recognize in this story. I appreciated the author’s disclaimer at the beginning of the book that if a dog isn’t yours or one you are familiar with to be sure to check with an adult before you Boop a snoot!
The pages are full of colors and adorable dogs. The words on the pages are colorful, and of various sizes, and move around the pages to keep the reading exciting. Be prepared for all kinds of giggles at the end of this one.
