Since the quantities come in smaller amounts, customers are able to try new spices without committing to a huge bottle. Plus, you are able to keep a smaller amount fresh until you run out rather than throwing out spices past their prime. You’ll find common spices like nutmeg and cinnamon as well as ones you might not be used to finding at your local stores like Rose Petals or Fleur de Sel salt.

This gourmet artisanal finishing salt is harvested off the northern coast of France using centuries-old sustainable, traditional methods. Fleur de sel is immaculately white since the salt crystals form on the surface of the œillets (tidal pools) and are carefully and laboriously skimmed by hand and collected without coming in contact with the grey clay silt.

I have been wanting to try the Fleur de Sel salt, but in other places online you typically have to purchase it in large quantities and I wasn’t sure how much I would use it. You can buy a 3 oz portion for $6.00 or a sample for just $.75. Now I have my own sample size to try.

These farm-direct spices can be purchased whole or ground and in a variety of sizes. They offer sample sizes for spices you might just need for one recipe or dish during the holidays all the way up to 16-ounce sizes for the spices, like cinnamon, that you use more frequently.

I was fortunate to be sent a box full of spices to try out along with a couple of recipes. The Selefina website also shares a variety of recipes to use with their spices, HERE. I chose to try the Golden Tumeric Milk and I was not disappointed. The aroma from the spices as soon as I opened the packages proved their freshness. I haven’t ever used Tumeric before in a recipe and I have been wanting to incorporate it into my cooking so this was an approachable start for me.

Combining Cinnamon, Ginger Root, and Turmeric with coconut milk and coconut oil into a saucepan and whisking until combined and warm makes for a perfect evening drink before bed. Golden Milk has many benefits including antioxidants to boost immunity and improve digestion, as well as help you get a good night’s sleep.

The Golden Turmeric Milk was delicious and is something I enjoyed drinking. The flavors blended well together with none of them being too overpowering. I’ve been experimenting with some of the other spices like adding a pinch or two of ginger root or cacao powder to my smoothies and rose petals to my tea. I haven’t been cooking much lately, but I am anxious to add the Fleur de Sel to some of our regular dishes to add a flavor boost. I did add some to my scrambled eggs the other morning and was delightfully impressed.
