I am certainly not perfect. I have flaws, lots of them. I screw up a lot. I make mistakes every single day.
1. I hold grudges.
2. I don’t make my husband a priority.
3. I yell at my kids.
4. I don’t have the cleanest house.
5. I have lied.
6. I ignore responsibilities.
7. I get jealous.
8. I am tempted, daily.
9. I get frustrated.
10. I have gossiped.
But, I am fortunate, because I don’t have to be perfect. Of course, I am going to mess up. I am human. But, there is someone who is perfect. HE loves me anyway. HE understands me. HE is JESUS.
Colossians 2:13-14 God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away nailing it to the cross.
HE took all that pain and suffering and anguish on the cross for each one of us. So, that, we may live with HIM forever. We are alive in HIM.
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
When I screw up, I can go to HIM and ask for forgiveness. HE is so understanding. HE knows me and knows my heart. HE loves me.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us for all unrighteousness.
I am not saved by doing things for others, by reading the Bible, by going to church, or by giving to charity. I am saved by HIS grace alone.
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
So, this weekend, if you haven’t already, remember that JESUS loves you. HE knows you by name. HE died and rose again for you. HE forgives you. HE will come again. Will you be ready? HE is yours but are you HIS?
