CONSIDER THE LILIES
Consider Series Book 2
By: Jennifer Grant
Illustrated by: Julianna Swaney
Published: February 10, 2026
Publisher: Eerdmans Books for Young Readers

Grant invites children to consider the beauty of nature, specifically the variety of colors in wildflowers in our yards, along the road, and in the woods and fields. Like her other novels, she bases this one on Scripture, with Luke 12 and Matthew 6 as inspiration. This is the second in her Consider series, with the first being CONSIDER THE BIRDS.

Consider the Lilies page

From white Queen Anne’s lace to red poppies to yellow sunflowers, kids will see them growing and blooming on the pages, as well as the various insects and birds that benefit from their pollen or their leaves. With lyrical prose, kids will learn about the various flowers and when to find them blooming in the wild.

With Spring just a bit over a month away, this book can be a reminder of God working in us and growing us over the winter season, and how He is just waiting for us to bloom as well. This Spring and Summer you can take your child out to parks or the woods and look for these flowers blooming and returning every year.
