Honor and Tom have been married for several years and have struggled with infertility. Their daughter Chole is currently their only child, but Honor, specifically, is hoping to find an egg donor to conceive their next child. Tom is not really on board with this idea, while Honor seems to be obsessed with the fertilization taking and can’t seem to enjoy their Paris vacation. Because of this, Tom and Honor argue, and there is a lot of tension in their relationship.

This uniquely told story offers a different perspective from what you see in most novels. There are secrets, lies, unexpected twists, forgiveness, betrayal, friendship, and overwhelming grief. This story will keep you on your toes, as well as make you cringe at the uncomfortable choices made by the characters.

Book clubs will find lots to discuss, and you will want to talk about this book with someone after finishing. Modern in the sense of what is happening in the world and the science of infertility, and a love story between Tom and Honor.
