I’m excited to share my Best Books I’ve Read So Far in 2025, along with a Mid-Year Reading Update. My goal is to read 80 books this year (not counting all the children’s books I share with you), and I’m right on track. I have finished 40 books so far, with the majority of my reading consisting of 4- and 5-star reads.

I can get through an audiobook a lot faster because I can listen while doing other tasks. This summer has been a bit busier than I had expected it to be. So my reading time has been more compromised. Our family will be heading on vacation soon, and I am certainly hoping there will be a good book-next-to-the-water type of day. I’m sure my daughter and daughter-in-law are hoping for that as well. It wasn’t too hard to narrow down my Best Books so far this year because there were some definite standouts.

What’s ahead for the rest of the year’s reading? Well, I still have several books that I’ve received from publishers/authors this year that are still waiting to be read. I also have several newly published books that I’m excited about…some on my shelf or on my Kindle…others in my Libby holds. I never know what the upcoming months will look like when school starts. I could be subbing a lot or not as much. But that always factors into how much reading time I have towards the end of the year.
