A new addition to the HERE I COME! series includes a Christmas book celebrating all the best things about Christmas. Steinberg is known for his collection of funny poems in his series and his newest Christmas book won’t disappoint fans of his other books.

One family can’t choose a Christmas tree, other poems feature the joy of all the holiday baking and goodies or the wish for sun or snow at Christmas time. The poems are short and the illustrations are fun and point out the frustration of a dad waiting for his family to choose a tree or the joy of a child donating a book or the confusion of a much-too-large Christmas sweater.

The poems start out with the excitement leading up to Christmas and end with everything kids love about Christmas Day including running out to see what is under the tree and all the delicious food on the table.

Introducing kids early to poems and different rhyming schemes is essential to their reading success. Kids will also appreciate the stickers at the end of the book. Be sure to check out all the books in this HERE I COME! series.

D. J. Steinberg is the best-selling author of the popular Here I Come! series, with over 20 books for young readers published to date. He lives in Los Angeles, California, and can be found at djsteinberg.com.

Laurie Stansfield has worked as a freelancer since graduating in 2010, but only recently arrived at where she feels most at home–illustrating children’s picture books. She creates her art digitally using a loose line, lots of texture, and a limited but punchy color palette.
