Fiction – Picture Book

There has been a nasty bug going through our school lately. Kids are dropping fast and if the bug hasn’t hit your child’s daycare or school yet…it will. When our kids were little, I had a collection of items that I saved for “sick days”. Movies, games, and favorite books to snuggle and read while they were home sick. This would make the perfect book to make your little one feel better.

Being sick is rough, but when you are an alien and you have two throats, five ears, and three noses, it is even worse. Mama and Daddy Alien go through a bag of tricks and potions to get their little Alien feeling better including a Milky Way milkshake. When Little Alien’s friendly pooch can’t stand to see his buddy hurting, he performs tricks to try and coax a smile on Little Aliens face.

This is a silly story that is sure to coax a smile and maybe a giggle out of your sick child. It may also help them be thankful they don’t have more than two ears and one nose and one throat to worry about. The illustrations are adorable and show Little Alien’s sadness and hopefulness that this treatment will work, and even his dogs worry over Little Alien.

This is the perfect story to tuck away for those days when nothing seems to cheer up your child. Toddlers to preschool-aged children will enjoy this story whether they are feeling crumby or not.
